Norm led the pack in moto on e , he was unable to get past other rid ers from his fifth place start in moto two wh ich is where he fini sh ed in tha t moto giving him a 1-5 score for second place . Dumpin' Da n , an OTHG Vegas cha pter rider, tried his lu ck on a SoC a l track . From his I I th p lace start, Da n gambled to win but only worked his way up to sixth in moto one. In moto two, however . Da n appa re ntly had the feel of the tacky tra ck . With more skill than luck Da n won mot o two wh ich gav e him a score of 6-1 for the third pla ce spot. Ftak y Fra nk b rough t up fourth. T he Intermediate cl ass wa s domina ted by Dynamite Da ve (Vegas) who blew in back -to-ha ck wins for the first place trophy. Da ve led the field aft er th e first lap ta king the lead fr om Dashing Dou g . In mota two Dynamite Da ve di ced with Runover Ron who had taken the lead from him but Dave regained his lead position in th e wh ite flag lap exp lod ing past Ron to th e checkers. Runover Ron went on to ' take the second place spot in his usual come -from -behind style to finish with a 3-2 score . Decomposed Dan (2-6) brought up third ahead of Flippin' Fred and Majestic Mojeske. Sharing the track with th e Intermediates, th e No vices went off th e line in a rush and only a few riders got lapped b y the Intermediates . Although Just J im rode an unfamiliar bike in his first moto , he managed a win . Moto two , this time ridi ng his own 'Zook , JustJim showed his peers to the finish line . winning with his I -I finishes. Drafty Dennis. usually the favorite to win in this class ; managed second place with a 2-2. Burley Bill (Vegas) brought up th ird followed by Beep Beep Bob and Meek Mike (Vegas) . CA , NOV . 26 Beautifu l skies and dry ground were found by all who came to the Sunday California Racing Club motocross at Saddleback Park . This was quite an improvement over th e last sch eduled club event in wh ich the hack track had to be used beca use th e main course was too messy. But due to th e superb weather a nd the specia l four-day holid ay, the overall rider partici pation was a lit tle th in , o bviously a num ber of peo p le decid ed to he ad for t he snow -tipped m ou nta ins. Seven d iffe re nt events were formed with a pproxim ately 130 rid ers on hand . The first race of the d ay was th e 250 and 500cc Pro class. Jim Tarantino is quite a threat at this track and is foun d racing in the 250cc Pr o clas nearly every Saturday and sometimes Su nd ays. J im faced a rat her large 16rider class a nd in the first moto he went out a head on his Su zuki , th e entire ra ce . The closest competitor happened to be Cross-Up -spo nso red Ma tt Devich , wh o's Honda 250 chased after the leader and at the same tim e was being followed by Mik e Marshall of Electro. Actio n in th e second moto was similar to the first round . T arantino pulled a faultless performance again with both Devich and Marshall charging from the second and third position. When the day was through and it was payoff t im e , T a rantino ended up collecting the best of the cash from the CRC trailer over Devi ch , Marshall , John Caper. Ken Ehl ers .
