It was in th e Mini classes that Hemet
pulled its lead. Ken Mclntire (H on) of
Hemet followed teammate Clay Smith .
(Suz) across the finish line in moto
one , but came back strong in the
second round. He was first across the
line leading a Hemet blitz consisting of
Smith and Steve Pearson (Yam). The
Mini Novice ' class saw Dale Dowdel
(Yam) pu t another feather in Hemet's
cap. He took both motos ahead of the
Sadd le back duo of Ba rney Frank (Suz)
and Keit h Pickrell (Hon) .
.
Bu t Hemet wasn't the on ly school
that was winning. Jeff Camarigg of
Eisenhower entered his IOOcc Yamaha
in th e 125cc Novice class. He grabbed
the holesh ot in m oto one an d left the

Rich a rd Ventura (Yam ) from Troy for
the enitre race 10 take second place. In
the second round . it was Camarigg
and Lee out in front again , making for
a carbon copy of the first moto. This
time , however , Hemet's Mit chel
Gabriel Ventura for third.
In the second division of 125 cc
Novices it was Hem et back out on top
with Rick Terpstra taking his Suzuki

W ithout doubt , the most impressive
rider of the night wa s Poly High

to &pull away . On the th ird lap ,
Wingington dropped out , giving th e

(S. B./Suz) slip by. Sarfaty finished
with four lapped riders b etween
himself and second place.
n In th e next mota, Sarfaty ran away
