Organ ized by the members ofV.O.T.E . a nd d ir ect ed by past p resident Boyd Bernard . the sc hool host ed 60 enth usiastic Beginners p lus 29 Novices and several Amateu rs and Ex pe rts . Introducin g ba sic trials skills to new riders proved to be an exci ting tim e for all. Held in t he shade of th e oak trees in typ ica l so u thern California 85 0 weather . the five Beginner sec tions proved to be ideal for teaching throttle con trol and bod y posit ion . After four hou rs of instruction in th e morning. by su'ch teachers as Bernie Schreiber and Andre Plouff. the- gu ests wer e invited to I participate in an afternoon trials consisting o f 10 Beginner/N ov ice sections. An array of motorcycles consisting of everythi ng from motocross to street bikes attempted all of the sections on the two loop course. Aft er a closel y contest ed trials . a run off was requi red to det ermine the first place finisher in th e Beginner class . who was Ga ry Winkler .
