By th e second lap he had worked his way up to th e number two position behind Matt Tedder but before he could pass he hit a rock and fell . dropping him back to fifth . As he worked his way back up 10 the front and got in behind Tedder again . he lost control of his front end and washed out once more. This time, however, only one other rider got by him before he was ab le to get back into the running. T ed der. still out in front. was by this time too fa r go n e to catch b ut Meyer zipped the number two man and finished second in the first rnoto just a few seconds behind Tedder. In the second moto Tedder got th e holeshot again but this time Meyer ca ugh t up to him and t hey were running neck and neck when they went into a tight comer and Tedder caught a bad line and fell . Meyer . taking over the front . stayed there to win the race and ta ke first for the day . Tedder picked himself up in time to finish second and took the overall in that position.
