Tom Mayfield was first to the fl ag in t he Racing World Open Pro c:1
ass.
he got a bad stan and througho u t the
moto seemed to be gen erally ji nxed
but he sta yed on top of it to rake in the
money. By th e second lap he had
worked his way up to th e number two
position behind Matt Tedder but
before he could pass he hit a rock and
fell . dropping him back to fifth . As he
worked his way back up 10 the front
and got in behind Tedder again . he
lost control of his front end and
washed out once more. This time,
however, only one other rider got by
him before he was ab le to get back into
the running. T ed der. still out in front.
was by this time too fa r go n e to catch
b ut Meyer zipped the number two
man and finished second in the first
rnoto just a few seconds behind
Tedder.
In the second moto Tedder got th e
holeshot again but this time Meyer
ca ugh t up to him and t hey were
running neck and neck when they
went into a tight comer and Tedder
caught a bad line and fell . Meyer .
taking over the front . stayed there to
win the race and ta ke first for the day .
Tedder picked himself up in time to
finish second and took the overall in
that position.
