making up for a last place start. He

VALENCIA , CA. . SEPT. 15
The holeshot was the key to
tonight's Pro races at Indian
Dunes. The winners 'of the 125 ,
250 and 500cc Pros all took the
first place position off the line and
kept it until the finish .
.T be 125cc Pros had two identical
motos. John O'Mara , on his Suzuki
from Al Baker, finished I -I. Willy
Simons (DG Yam) had 2·2 . George
Faber on a Yamaha sponsored by
Scott's Woodley Texaco took 3-3, and
Chip Johnson's Suzuki took a 4-4 for
Cross Roads Canyon Tires.
The 250cc Pro class was not quite as
repetitive , but Andy Jannings (Murry's
Accessories Honda) got off the line
first and finished first in both motos .
Pete Snorte1and, also on a Honda
from Murry's. finished third in the
first moto and second in moto two,
taking a second place for the night.
Robbie Brand tries to hold off DeAnza MX 250cc Pro winner Lance Burgess.
Third place went to Dave Haugh when '
he reversed Snorteland's performance
with a 2-3 on his Maico from Canoga
Park Suzuki .
Jann ings repeated his 250cc
performance when he rode his Cole
Brothers Maico in the 500cc Pro class.
HoleshotS and first place finishes in
both motos gave him the first place
money. Dave Haugh finished second
with a 2·2 , on his Maico from Canoga
Park Suzuki. Third place finisher
Steve Richard had a 4-3 record, also
on a Maico from Canoga Park Suzuki.
With riders as evenly matched as the
Pro competitors are it's hard to pass
one of them once they get out front .
Everybody practice your starts,
