CA !10731 One of the most impressive night- . time motocross series ever held came to a close this Friday evening at Indian Dunes. Tne American Motocross Enterprises Bosch Summer Series had its final bout and after six straight successful races., promoter Jerry Shore would like to thank the more than generous sponsors of the series including the Robert Bosch Co. . Electro Helmets. Spectro Oil andJD Engineering. A consistent 300 riders a night showing took place during this spectacle and the final event had a fantastic full-house turnout with 25 different classes. The Pro showing was superb and the 500cc Pro thriller was certainly something to watch . The most advertised racer around this track is probably Greg Robertson and his win this time in this class showed just why he gets a write up from th e press . Kolbe Cycles has taken a keen interest in Robertson and their total support is paying off . Greg ate up the 11 other competitors in both motos, taking first overall a decent cash prize to boot. Jim Tassano listed his bike as being a MAC but whatever he rides he does well. Jim scored a 4-2. which gave him the second place green over third place Andy Janning of Sepulveda. Steve Rawson headed off the rest of the angry pack, which included Mark White (Hus). Bill Hagen (Yam). Greg Torgerson (Yam), Rusty Hunt (Yam). Steve Richard (Yam), Ned Bassotti (Ma) a nd Mike Bosworth (C ·A). Resu lts MINI J R: 1. Andy Nelinger ISull; 2. Mike Moss (Vam); 3. Don Kokindo (Voml . MINI INT : 1. Doug Gentry (Suz); 2. By Rod Eschenburg CHULA VISTA , CA, SEPT. 1 The race of the night was the free-for-all Money Race for TT motorcycles as Al Finan "promoted" a $110 purse by charging the riders only a buck to ride it and getting the rest of the money from the spectatorsl About 20 riders started the Money Race . which was held prior to the second moto heats or Main Events , and when the mud had settled (no dust ever-well hardly . ever-on a Don Basile track) Ward Ring had a win and a $50 bill and second place and a $30 bill (didn't know they made 'em) went to Dennis Dunn who had an otherwise bad night. It paid to fifth with Al Glover , Jim McMurren and Sid Carlson following in that order. Regular program action featured a two for two moto win by 250cc point leader Ben Meye r with a rea lly charging ride 10 a second overall by Ca l Rayborn Jr., who really had everything going right and he put . down veterans John Mello and Keith Lynas . Dennis Dunn had his problems all night as he could only come up with a sixth overall in the 250cc class and a fifth in the Open Main because ~ spill • 4 , . ~ ) .. , ..
