Regular winner in the 250cc Expert was Kim Jorgensen on the Jorgy's Can- Am, while Dennis Kritzer is the semi regular on the Kiser Bros. Honda in the 360cc Expert and Danny Castelhano wishes he would win more of the 500cc Experts on his Yamaha of Fremont TT500. Minibike action brought a Pee-Wee class where Ronny Knight won on a Z· 50, while Mike Macedo won the 60cc Novice . Experts Aaron Hill and Vance Sherfield have been doing the great racing stuff with the Chandlers and Carrs and Moores off to the National battles. Little Aaron got the win in the 80cc class over Vance, while the Yamaha Sports Center rider won the 100cc class over Jack D. Barton and Jerry Lanning. Mark Key continued to dominate the Junior class in the 125 and 250cc winning both with only token challenges from Tony 'Holdsclaw in the 125cc and Fred Crabaugh and Joe Eichelbaugh in the 250cc . The big boy Experts were all good mains. with close action and not much passing. Kim Jorgensen, once again, got the fast start and Dave Boyles tucked in to follow the Can-Am home. Danny Castelhano busted his way through the pack to get the third spot over Ken Netto in a repeat of the Salinas E & R battle while Rich Arnaiz took home the last place. monies and points toward his first black plate. Castelhano continues to hold a good lead in second for the overall top 20 places and seeing pop Arnold , a racing great in his day , has to make it more enjoyable. Fred Winters returned to racing after a three month layoff and did it right by winning the 360cc Junior on the controversial XL 350 over returning Kenny Burton on the Gringo, while Joe Brazil , Jr. , won the 500cc Jl!nior over a slidin' Stu McDaniel.
