Cates crash ed once, however, and was down long enough for Whiting to fly by but Cates picked up Whiting's tail and sta yed on him for two laps where he re -captured the . lead to win the race and the overall. Whiting placed second and Sue Fish finished with a third for the day. John Atwood and Joe Price crowned Crown Cycle by taking the overall first and second place wins in their 250cc Pro rac e and bad Bob Walker brought Ba y Cycle a big victory by finishing thi rd.
