A private poll of the congressional and gubernatorial candidates in California was taken recently to determine which candidates were in ~ favor of off-road motorcycle use in the California desert. . O"l The first contact was made by sending a copy of the now -famous ...... "W ilderness Showdown Brochure:' to 'each candidate and a note r---~ stating that the motorcyclists in California would like to know the (IJ candidates' opinion of the BLM wilderness situation . l:: Two weeks later another communication went out stating that a Wilderness Showdown Brochure had been sent to them recently and ::s -, th e moto rcyclists in California would like to know the candidates' viewpoint on the BLM wild erness issue . The note also stated that if there was no response by a certa in date , it would be assumed that the candidate was for the BLM brand of totalitarianism . The candidates are graded in fou r ways: For Motorcyclists . For Restricted Use, No Position . No Response and No Contact. I Upon rev iew of the poll, it will be noted that the majority of t he candidates did not respond . Maybe they do not take motorcyclists seriously.
