... other area tracks, Marysville drew over 400 riders Sunday, and among them were some of Northem California's top Expert riders. Donnie Cantaloupi (Moto-X Fox) and Bob Meyers (Maico) were the outstanding riders of the day with Cantaloupi easily winning every moto of both the 125 and 250cc Expert classes and Bob Meyers winning both Open Expert motos. 2In the first 125cc Expert moto , Cantaloupi led every lap and was followed by Rick Woodson, Brad Harrison, Ron McQuade and Eric McKenna. Woodson had troubles half way through and retired, giving up second to Harrison. Chalma Roberts had to work his way up from 10th place at the end of la p one to take the checkered in a third place phot o finish with Eric McKenna. In the second moto, C h a lma Ro berts goth the holeshot and put d ista nce between himself and hardcharging Cantaloupi. His lead was short- lived however, as Ca n talo u p i pulled into the lead on the second lap . Roberts looked strong and wasn't about to give up and pursued Cantaloupi closely as the two pulled away from the pack. •_ Halfway home, Roberts' engine blew and Cantaloupi was left all alone. Brad Harrison inherited second, but was quickly put back to third by Dana Waxham. Rick Woodson finished in the number four spot. The overall went to Cantaloupi , second .to Harrison , third to Wax ham and fourth overall went to McKenna. Cantaloupi came back in the 250cc Expert class and did it again . In moto one, Dave Coupe got the holeshot and was able to hold Cantaloupi off for almost two 'laps, but Donnie got by and it was all over . Coupe finished second ahead of Dan Waller, who had to work up fr om . a poo r start. Allen Berlutti came back in the second round to pass Cantaloupi for first, but then had troubles tha t . dropped him back to a fifth pla ce finish , leaving Cantaloupi to finish first . Fisk moved up to take second ahead of McNamara and Coupe. The over all went to Cantaloupi with Cou pe second. Fisk took third ' and McNamara fourth, Bob Meyers put together two moto wins in the Open Expert to claim the overall ahead of Brian Jodry. Meyers , a regular at Marysville, ran in first for every lap of both motes. Jodry made h is way past Swartz to take over second, but lost it for several laps to Dan Waller before regaining it in the last lap. Waller finished third and Swanz fourth , In the second moto, Meyers did it again , followed all the way by J odry in second and Waller in third. Er ic McKenna battled back and forth with Swartz before getting a secure hold on fou th and Swartz fifth.
