Bruce Slaughter was the only other rider scoring moto money with a fine third place finish in the fina l, ho lding back Phee and Burks. The story was much the same in the 250cc and Open Expert clash with Johnson (Amsoil -Hon) winning both motos and this time the only rider to keep him honest was returning Greg Howard , on the Vandivers Cycles Maico .
