J eff Blix, a new name to Corona , rode for AI Baker and stayed ahead of A llied Suzuki's 'Doug Lincoln to take second. In the final mota it was Lincoln who broke on top with Blix second and Gray third . It took Gray two laps to get by Blix a nd Lincoln was still holding first. On the fo urth lap Gra y found his op ening and go t by Lincoln . to ta ke over the lead with three la ps to go. Blix waited until th e wh ite flag was out before he took his best sho t a t Lincoln. MAR . 5 Cha r lie Welk did it again this time the hard way as he dusted a large entry in El Cajon Motor~ cycle Club's 75-miler in the Yuha off H ighwa y 98. A LeMa ns sta rt in two waves 10 m inu tes a part started the wild m elee on a rain -soa ked dese rt making it fast and d ustless . .~ W elk did the first 25 mi les in 26 m inutes. H e led all three loo ps, getting by the first ro und two m in ut es ahead of Bill Sal tzm a n and Mike Stearns . Ric Secor and Rom y Taylor battled it out for third and fourth ti ll Rom v lost a chain, breaking his gearbox. .
