Showtime Showtime in Daytona means a chance to see the latest accessories. the newest motorcycles and much. much more. This year the scene encom passes two major shows . one major exhibit and the artistry of the entrants in a chopper show. The best known show in Daytona is the Motorcycle Dealer News Accessory and Trade show that is held in the downstairs exhibition portion of the Plaza Hotel on Atlantic Avenue. Wednesday is opening day with the doors unlocked at 6 p .rn . and closing at 10 p .m. Thursday's hours are the same with closing extended one hour on Friday to 11 p.m. O n' Sa tu rd ay the show will open at 4 p.m. and close at 11 p.m., An admission fee is charged. The Daytona International Motorcycle Show at the Daytona Beach Jai Alai Fronton near the Speedway is in its second year. It also is a trade and accessory show. Last year the promoters spiced up the action with films . a movie premier and other goodies. This year there will be continuous movies and special attractions plus drawings on four motorcycles during the Ted Otto/Bill Bowser radio show direct from the show . Hours are Noon until 10 p .m . Wednesday through Sunday . An admission fee is charged. One stop that is a- must during Speed Week is the Harley-Davidson show at the Daytona Hi lton on South Atla ntic Avenue . Anyone even re motely concerned with motorcycling has to be turned on by their display of vintage through modem racing machinery plus all their new models and many other items. This year Harley-Davidson is celebrating their diamond anniversary - 75 years of motorcycling. The show is open from 2 p.m. until 11 p .m . Wednesday through Saturday. Admission is free . Another free service from Harley is their message board located in the breezeway of the Hilton. This alphabetized 40 foot informa tion piece has become the place to leave a note for lost or found friends . There is also a section called The PaTty Boar . If you haven't figure d what type n otices you'll find there. we can't help you . The board will be up for messages March 4·13. The H -D show is also the place (along with Robison H -D in Daytona) to purchase your $10 ticket for viewing the Daytona 200 from Harley Heaven. Heaven. which is open to any bike rider . is actually a 5.000 seat grandstand located almost directly across from the chicane on :the backstraight at the Speedway. Secured and guarded parking will be available. During the race $1 .000 worth of ffiD accessories will be given away to spectators in this section. £'1 Would you love to be in a parade?
