In the first moto, McCa uley fought a heavy ba ttl e with Bryan Reaves. Bot h has constant press ure on them from Bria n Williamson . Ste ve Nol and , m aking so me sple ndid, str ategic m oves up through the pack, eased his way into second, throwing ou t m uddy roosts be hind him , u ntil suddenly he went down , tu rn ing second over to Williamson. As the field skirted th e la rge m udh ole and headed in for the checkered flag, McC au ley led the wa y in fi rs t , Willia mso n followed in second a nd Dou g Pach eco took third . When the ga te dropped for the second tim e, McCauley had gold in his eyes and charged into the first tu m . Holding in tight fonn at ion be hi nd him were Pach eco and Rea ves. In a mo ta loade d with wipe outs and g rou p crashes , Pac h eco emerged intact to take over the lead and a crack at second overall . McCa uley kept Pac heco in his sigh ts a nd closed th e distance in sho rt tim e. McCauley had heavy a rt illery behi nd hi m in the likes of Reaves and Charlie J on es. Wi th Reaves narrowing his lead , McCauley had considera ble pressure riding on him , kno wing if he could hol d second he'd ta ke the overall. Head ing down the ho me stretch in fro n t of the tower, Rea ves went sideways in the mu d , right into the mudhole. W hile he was pu llin g himsel f out , McCa uley took fu ll adva ntage a nd set out to ta ke Pac heco. Com ing in for th e winning checkered flag, Pa ch eco hel d his lead, good for second overall. McCa uley crossed over in second , clinching the overall win , a nd W illiamson , who was running fift h, had eno ugh points for third overal l. Resu lts in Resul ts Section.
