o C(') M (1) ..c a ~ o Z Roger DeCoster took his fourth Trans-AMA series title, "The 250cc Husky was really good this year, and I plan to ride the 250cc Nationals for 1978 . Eric Crippa will probably be my mechanic. That's the thing I'm really concerned with . Husky will have a super-good bike for next season , and with a good tuner like Eric I should have an excellent shot at the National title." The Sears Point course has been redesigned over the last year, and the new layout with its steep uphills and downhills and steep off-cambers proved to ' be a handful. Reigning National 500cc Champ Kent Howerton was a no-show at Sears Point , probably meaning his four year relationship with Husky had finally ended. Marty Moates showed up on a 450cc Honda four-stroke built by Knobby Shop International in San Diego . Gerrit Wolsink returned to race he final round before he and Suzuki earnmate DeCoster flew off to Japan to'r testing of next year's works bikes. •Motoone _ ?
