Woods took the win , and the overall, as Cassidy had to settle for a second overall with his 1-2 finish . The third-place rider Dale Hines (Yam) finished the motos in fourth and sixth which showed the diversity of leaders in the two motos . Scott Karl (Suz) took both motos of the 125 Experts but there was some great racing going on behind him. Watts was unhurt but the bike needed repair before he was able to come out for the second moto, Meanwhile, the race continued with Karl holding the lead and Douglas and Brand staying close behind in the second and third ·place spots. The three moved out to a half- lap lead on the rest of the field with Karl pulling away to insure a first place finish and Douglas and Brand dicing for second. -As the two came down the final straight. Brand was right on the tailpipe of Douglas' Suzuki and , coming out of the last tum , Brand gave it all he had and sneaked by to take second just inc hes ahead of Douglas. Marquez held on for one lap until Karl came up to take. over. Woods. meanwhile. was relegated to ' third as Dennis Brand came charging up from way back. On the last lap Brand caught Woods and passed him at the bottom of the downhill. Woods turned the throttle and moved beside Brand and as they raced down the last straight it was back and forth . side-byside over the jump and into the tum. Brand managed to be on the inside and got the best line through the tum and. as they came out and crossed the line, Brand had moved into the third place spot, ' giving him a second and third for second overall. • The track remained virtually dustless for the whole day of racing and even the second division of 125 Novices had no trouble seeing as they blasted off the line in the last race of the day. Rod Williams (Hon) had won .the first moto after steadily moving up through the pack. while john Azevedo . (KTM) settled for second. In moto two it was Shawn Hantz (Yam) moving into the lead on the third lap to take the win with Azevedo ' again sliding into second place. Williams DNFd the second mota and Hanz had finished .poo rly in mota one so Azevedo, by virtue of his steady riding. took home the first place trophy. • Results in Results Section.
