It was the battle of Yamaha vs. Can. Am in the 200 class motos, Lee Pritchard ' won for Yamaha but the Can-Ams of Kent Bowser and Mike Beanway were right behind . It was 'pu re luxury to have an announcer for a sportsman r ace. and because the Gripsters had taken the time to give - the announcer what he needed ' to kn ow . Sandy R eed wa s there doing his usual inimitable job. Cars or bikes (m aybe airplanes for all G~ we know) ole Sandy can announce 'em all. Hordes of 250s of course ... first heat Scott Podergois (he eventually won the main) Dave Cote, Rick Blankenship rt and Scott Dinkins were really goi ng at c it but Dinkins lost his second place { coming into tu rns one-two a bit too . quick and Cote ended up with his 2.~brake lever dragging . ..
