John Tessitore dominated the 125 class at the 10th Annual Mammoth Mountain Motocross as some of the best pros in California were on hand to battle -the tough course and the high altitude. The Mammoth area is nationally known for excellent skiing. but once a year motocross racers from throughout the west gather for a two day racing classic. On Saturday the amateurs brave the hills and on Sunday th e pros take on the track. 22 The course is located just outside the city of Mammoth. At an altitude of 8.000 feet the oxygen gets a little thin . That. . coupled with one of the most challenging tracks anywhere; made for some interesting racing. There were sprinkler systems on the uphill and the drop away downhill. a water truck for the flat sections and fire hoses to get what was left over . to keep the track well watered.
