Because of their la rg e number , the 125 classes had to be broken down into two d ivisions with the top tw o riders going into a two lap run -off. The 125 N ovice run-off pitted Mark Sanchez o f N orco ag ainst Tim Ma y of San Bernardino and in th e 125 In te rm ed iat es, Don Hoove r of Upland went aga inst Phil Thorstenson o f La Sierra , who had a month 's worth of troub le just getti ng into the run off. Randy Mcintyre of Norco had everything working all right. but he a long with Ro be rt Young of Hern er were the ex ception t th e rul e . Mcintyre took the first moto with case. follow ed by Tim Hoover o f Upla nd and Young. Steve Feld had a DNF. The final m otu again saw McI nrvre coll ect all th e marbles with Feld picking up seco nd and Young thi rd . Hoo ver and Thompson DNF'd . Sec ond overall went to Young with Feld gett ing third in a tie b reaker with Hoov e r . T'hey pl ayed follow the leader in th e 25 0 Sen ior class with Bob Harbor of Colton topping Dw ight Wilkinson of North and Paul Ballow of Arlington . The 500 Senior was th e same thing wit h Mitch Payton of Norco claiming that o ne . T he upse t of the day ca m e in the Powde r Pu ff di vision. Jill Mcllrath of No rco . who has dominated the class a ll season , look ed as if she'd do it ag ain when she won th e fir st motu wit h janet Grisham of A rli ngton seco nd .
