The two did a splendid job of showing what team m otocross is all about. Rich ter had it goin g with young Dean W iggi ns in the first 250 Expert moto , swap ping the lead in corners , doing wheel ies up the hi lls and swapping lines through t he ro ugh spots. It really got th e crowd up. Dea n W iggins aced th e troo ps in th e first Open Expert moto of 20 m in utes aboa rd t he Petaluma Cycl e ' Center Maico and di d a bang-u p job chasi ng a nd leading Richter in the 250 , but could n't keep up the p ace in the seco nd ro u nd Open. Bo b Myers won , totaling a three to Wiggins' four. Myers came off a tu mble to win th e seco nd ro und, making for q uite a final series race on March 13 for the ove rall a nd divisio na l high po int as well as a lot of Blu e Plate points. R ichter took a stock Suzu ki 125 barrel over the po rt ed version on his MX Fox bike a nd eas ily led the two 125 rnotos with t he exception of two la ps in t he firs t when a rim lock put a nat spot on th e bott om of the front ti re . H is sho w in the seco nd rnot o was a b ig win b ut th e poi nts added up to a seco nd overall. Ernie Ca bra l wayla id th e Ve ts/ OT for the overall win whi le son T ed devastat ed the 250 Novices. Another tro phy for th e Cycle W est trophy rack. The March 13 even t will be the final in the W int er Ser ies and will be :1 com memo ra tive race for Don Davis who was killed in a ca r acciden t.
