At the beginning of th is year,
Team Husqvarna manager Rolf
Tibblin knew he had abig job in .
front of him . . . a whole season of
off-road rac ing , inc luding the four
premier desert races: the Baja 500,
the Parker 400, the Mint 400, and the
classic Baja 1000. Rolf chose the
tire he knew could do the job, the
Goodyear Eagle DIS II, as the rear
tire for each of these races. Finally,
on November 13,1 976, Team Husky
co-ride rs Mitch Mayes and Larry
Roeseler took a first overall in the
Baja 1000, finishing thetorturous
course in 11 hours and 30 minutes.
Husky had done it. They swept eac h
of the four races, with'Goodyear's
Eagle DIS II. . "

with the help of Rolf Tibblin and the
