Scram b ling to stay in front of Gingerelli and Cloug h in th e righ t-ha nd -ho rseshoe then sweeping-left series of curves. Fu ller overcooked it in the left -ba nder and crashed with a scrape and a th ud. Fu ller 's sliding moto rcycle and tumb ling body sent Clough runni ng straight off into the din to avoid a collision as Gingerelli motored off. While Clough was ab le to get back on the track and not lose anv mo re ground to Gingerelli . he co~ ld no t ca tc h him . Full er limped into the pits . where his p it crew went to wor k on th e be nt and scraped Ya ma ha . Two races la ter , Fu ller , with oozing abrasions on his arm s and ha nds . was ou t again on his 250cc Gra nd Prix Yamaha. win n ing 500cc GP .
