II went on this way in the next two moros as Turner once again got back-to - back holeshots and proceeded to walk away from everybody else as he boogied his way to the checkered. Jeff Vidic (Suz) was able to give Ron a much harder time in the 250 Experts. In the first mo to , both Vidic and T urner were at a stalemate, since it seemed that both riders were on evenly matched machinery . However , ry as he might, Ron just couldn't find a way around J eff, who was able to pull just out of his reach. Alwa ys in th e corn ers, Ron would catch back up . ut on th e straights Jeff would shu t the ooron him . In the next ro und, Ron re all y laid it on Vid ic a nd everybody else that you co uld only fool h im once . When R on got the holeshot, it was bye-bye time . T his tim e , it was J eff who was ho ldi ng on in a try to get around the FMF flier , but th e chance never came. And in t he fina l mota , Ron did it again with J eff tagging a long in second. Second place Gary Ba ll had a 3-2 -4 and shut out David's teammat e Ler oy Dozois who blew his first and secon d with a ninth pla ce finish in th e second moto, Bill Jewett , a membe r of th e Norco High School team , st arted with a second in th e first mota of I25cc Pros, ca m e back to take a first and then let second overall Rand y Mclntyre get by him in the third moto to mess up his average a little b it but not enough to take the bucks away . Doug Archibald showed the way to th e winner's circle with a clean swee p in th e Expert class today, wit h Dick Fr ampton hustl ing right in th er e for second SP01. George Meyer and Bob Millner traded positions in each moto , wit h George taking the third over all and Bob pulling in for fourth . In a large Amateur class , John Selder , forsaking his Yamaha for a Maico and trading mota wins with Gerry Steiner, took the first overall honors with a sparkling 3- I , followed closely by only two po ints by Boyce Williams , who is getting faster and faster on his KT M . Doyle Brown harnessed a ll that CZ power today for a third ; separa ted by onl y on e po int with Tom Widick , who took a well earned fourth posi tio n . In the Novice class, Do n Edlund and Kid Coffm a n hashed it ou t in grand style , wit h each winning a m o to - Don taking the second moto and . rop no tc h th is d a y, wit h t h e Kid nailing down second overall .
