Anything goes at CRCMX By Rex Reese TRABUCO CYN. • CALIF,OCT.31 Mark Brooks (Suz) overcame some weekend disappointments to smoke his own Open Expert class, but had his hands full with 250 Expert Don Hansen (Mai) in a combined 250 /0pen Expert field in wich the theme was " a nyth ing goes" And, everything did go at that. The 250 / Open Novices and . Intermediates were also given the melting pot treatment as to who wou ld come out on top. Walt Olson (SOl) scored two wins and a second over an inconsistent field of 250 Novices to win his class easily. Second best was Rick Cobyrn (Bul) with a 1-5-2 , and third place Kevin O lson (Suz) , 3-2·6, for third . Greg Dr askovich (KTM) was s!i.s.htly better as he roosted the 250 Int erm ed ia tes with a straight 1-1- 1 victory. John Reeves (Mai) p ut in a . h a rd riden 3-2-2 for second , while NEVADA Elk o-Je ffS Cycle Snack (702) 7'38-77 33 Steve Childress(Suz) was ' third. CALIF. OCT. 30 The Santa Claus Series entered its third week wit h another light showing of riders, with 250 I ntermediate Don Glover (Yam) dominating the combined 250 /0pen First Day, Beginner, Novice pack; while virtually the only Expert present , Mark Brooks (Suz) crashed twice. seized it , and then called it a day. In the second division , it was a battle between 100 Intermediate Tim Willmeth (Hon) and 125 Beginner Don Billins (Yam) as to who would rule the ankle-biters. The first moto went to Tim after he aced out Don for the lea d on the second lap. with the former leader falling into traffic and mever being seen again . The second round was a seesaw race between the two little screamers with W illmeth again leadi ng , butthem getting overtaken on the white flag lap by Billings who got himself the win .
