The class paid to Q) sixth plac~. ..0 Three new Suzuki GS750s failed to make any waves in the Production Q) classes, except for the 'one ridden by :> Terry Waugh, who crashed on the Open Production starting grid. That was ' bizarre scene. David Breetwor stalled on the front row and raised his hand. Other racers saw Breetwor and figured there would be a delay. But according to starter Harry Bresach, the IO-second sign was already out, which - by AFM rules - means no turning back. The flag waved, the race started, and several back-row starters rammed Breetwor and Waugh, who hit still another rider, Both Dan Spisak and John Chermak wound up this last {\FM points race as AFM Champions - Spisak ' in GP, Charmak in Production. Both ride only Yamahas, both .are sponsored by Berkely Yamaha, and both won by giant points margins by virtue of consistent riding at all the points races, not by winning everything in sight.
