This author has used oth er expletives' to describe the act ion . with some disd a in from high authority. In deference to them . I will not use that word in th is story but believe m e, indoor racing is a .r-« . The openi ng of the 10 race series was its usual hectic runaround with oldtimers relating to newcomers the ways and forays or indooring. A pair of young H arrells took the opening main event. Bill and Steve are a pair of 80 Novices, that keep Pop bounding around now that there are four racing Harrells. Dennis Anderson is another of the father-to -son pass alongsz , win ning the 80 Junior over Mike Armtrout in a good hattie that saw Mike set up for the pass at each corner, going wide with a slide and the n dropping under _ for the attempted pass but to no avail. Doug Chandler took th e 80 Expen win but ir was a disputed call for second spot trophy, Tracy Hays and Bill Arbogast were locked in combat for that spo t when the two look what appeared to be a white and checkered at the same time. They came around for the real checkered and crashed in the last tu rn pu tt ing Adam Souza the only other one to take the checkered. T oo much lapping by Chandler ma de for confusing la p counts. Steve Zanone too k the big win in . the 250 Novice and a tie for t he "King" series at 10 po int s apiece with Clay Hodges of Reno . Brian Ka va na ugh . who rides little b ut the indoor, took second over Rocky Spe akm a n . Dou ble po in ts for Experts just seems to bring Out the best in Rick Delacy. The two-time former No. I took his turn at the point in the 250 Expe rt to win and collect a b ig 14 points to narrow Do n' Bailey' lea d . Chuc k Miller rode a very safe and sane race for second on the Martin Cycle Ossa with Frank Borba in for third over a nicely recovering Bob Silva who started fr om row th ree. Big class of the night wasz once again the 360 Expert with notable heavyweights su ch as Joh n Genna i to con tend with. Ge nnai , in the heat, started in the middle of t he back row and a t th e green light, made a left a nd a right through traffic. As the pack exited th e first turn, Gen n ai was in the lead just as pretty as a ballerina . W hen "Gennai returned for the main event, his best budd y Gary T onda knocked him off at the first stan and Tony Alves had no p lace to go but over his body. T he damage was mi nimal with a grazed tank for Tonda and soreness for Gennai bu t not enough to take away any thought of winning. John did that , with Tonda in for second over Roy Taboada on the Pop Taboada Bul, Delacy came from the back row on his new KR -framed _ Yaiiiaha for fourth over John Tavis.
