It was the second part of a three day motorcycle special during the annual fair. The short track seemed well suited to the y ou ng pro who took the lead on lap 12 from AI Kenyon's failin g motor and won his second main in just two times au t as a pro. Despite the Monday night date, the fair goers were plentiful and were treated to a great sh ow on the little "'o ne-seven th mile track used mostly for the Speedway racers; but the riders were all enthusiastic about wanting to race on it more often. <, In the 20 lap Main Al Kenyon and 'J im Mertens led out with Kenyon taking the lead going into the first corner of the second lap and controlling the race with ease over Mertens, Lawson, Pervier and Gennai until the fateful 11 th lap when the rod cage gave up the cause. Mertens and Lawson fell into the lead over the crew and lapping. Passing was at a minimum with the only sign ificant racing going on at the fr ont in the first lap.
