With Rich ter no t abou t to give up th e lea d, R o bertson and Zahrt h ad to settle for sec on d and th ird. Mik e Hersman was fourth again and Scott Mon tgomery (RM) gra bbed fifth. Sauer wins Scratchman title By Pat Upton CHICO , CAL., SEPT. 4 Chico's Chris Sau er ear ned the right to the title o f " Scratchma n" by winning the 360cc Handicap fro m the 60 . yard line . Sau er is only th e 15 th ri der to earn t h is hon or in the 13 year hist ory of Cycleland. The real battle was fo r third between J im Gollihar and Mike McA vo y .
