Husky's Take First Overall,
Class Championships
And Three
Twenty-two year old Bob Popiel, a Hu sqvarna
service rep from Nash ville, uncrated one of the first
new, 1977 360 Automatics a couple of weeks ago to
be photographed for an ad. After th e photo session,
he changed the stock handlebars, tightened up all the
nuts and bolts, loaded up the scooter, and headed for
Michigan.
The rest is history.
Bob smoked th e star-studded field - placing First
Overall in the J ack Pine - the two-day, 400 mile,
Granddaddy of National Enduros. Bob's new 360
Auto ran perfectly throughout the gruelling weekend.
He dropped only 6 points the first day and,
miraculously , ZEROED th e second day.
Dave Lipov sky, last year's Husky mounted winner,
got Third Overall , and class A Medium Champ on his
Husky 250 WR.
Last week, Bob ran a 100 mile Enduro in
Richardsville, KY on the same 360 Automatic.
Again, he finished First Overall.
Nor a bad couple of we ek s for a young man on his
way up - fast !
