It did not rain and he sto rm ed past rivals on hand cut , o r p atterned tires to take th e lead o n the seven th lap posing the fas test lap of the race at 3m 1.9 sec ond s. Both st opped at the end o f th e 15th lap fo r fuel , but th ey were o ff agai n' withou t being ca ught b y the op posi tio n.
