Mo issee v and Van Velthoven battled until th e finish , but the lanky Bel gia n had to settl e for te n th as the Russian hurtled over th e line first. R o unding off the top fifteen were Bau er, Everts, Bruno , Pean and H udson . T he results were tallied wi th a first p l a ce finish co unting o ne p o int, a second - 2 an d so on. A nati on ' 5 sco re consisted of the total of the best six finishes made b y its team m embe rs. The winner again this yea r was Bel gium wit h 62 points edging ou t the Russians by four points. In third was Czechoslovakia with 74, Sweden in fourth with 77, and .E n gland (88) in fifth, USA ( 10 1) , G e r m a n y (121), Ho llan d (124), Fin dland (150), France ( 178), Ireland (233) , Norway (255) Denm ark 28 0), I t al y ( 2 8 1) and Switzerland (178) _ fi n i s hed in that order.
