He won both m o t os taking first overall. Gorilla Gary, o n e of the well known "Cole Bros.,' diced with Larry for a whil e b ut had to settle fo r second. T he Amateu r class, was wo n by Branch Bruce who finally broke hi s long dry spell. Second p lace Petrified Pete ke p t his flash y Bultaco ahead o f Ha nk y Herb who brou gh t up th ird. Th e largest turnout was in th e Interm ediate class , w ith a to tal of n ine riders co m pe ting. First was taken by' Mol d y Mik e, followed b y Lewd Lo u , on a ho t CZ hampered by a broken re ar shock. Pansy Paul p ushed hard from seventh iri t he ·fi rst mo t a to end u p with a third overall. Novice Rickety Ri ck won b o th his moto s for a grand -slam win, leaving a bruised Toile t Tom to brin g up secon d.
