Kissing the trophy-girl was the easy part. The cork broke off in the bottle of bubbly and Steve had to dig it out with a knife and a corkscrew to get a sip. Then, handing the bottle to one of the crowd of well wishers who had pressed close t o get a look at the champion of the Unadilla 500cc National MX, Steve went back for another clinch with the trophy girl , Ms. Kellee Andrews, while someone walked , off with his cha~pagne. Staekable's 1-3 score told the story for overall with Honda's Pierre "Pepe" Karsmakers taking second with a 2-5 placing. In third was hard luck rider of the day Tony DiStefano who led both motos comfortably at one time only to ha ve ground-sky experiences which dropped his finishes to a pair of hard earned fourth lad .
