Buffington couldn 't hold up his end so

for a final runoff of the high point man '
from each te am for the tie breaker. It
was Martin vs Lindwall for a two lapper,
Martin dominated an obviously tired
Lindwall an d Hanford go t its first win
of the season.
Brian Buffington go t a te n yard line ,
start in the Handicap Mai n and it was
too goo d for th e rest of the pa ck. Jack
Martin did a , phenomenal job from his
new 60 yar d mark and got a third, not
quite ca tc hing second place Faulkner.
Buffington also made th e Scratch Main
to face Han fo rd's triple threat , Tom
Ferris, Grant Salyers and J ack Mar tin,
With Martin o n equal footing he painted
a di fferent p icture and t he night's Hot
Do gs, fo llowed him ho me under heavy
pressure.

Ron Hardin, back a ft er an ei ght week
bout with collar-bone-ir is, had traffic
problems in e arl y heat racing but had it
together for both th e Scratch and
Handicap Consis. He won the pair with
two nice rides.
At main even t time all the regulars
had battled through an d the tension was
high as the fans waited to see if Jack
Martin could pull o ff his much
so ught-after clean sweep. In
the
Handicap Main J ack fa ced all his regular
rivals with A tc h ison added for go o d
measure , and Mark Tracy of Fre sno in
his first main even t on the zer o yard
line. Traffic was fierce in the rear
ec hel on and while th e hi gh yardage men
battled,

win for his swee p . He faced Tom Ferris
who spoiled it fo r him, last week, along
with Morley and Grant Sal yers. J ack

th e holeshot a nd nobody saw anything
but his dust for four laps. J ack to ok the

Gr and Prix Cycles in Fremont will give
