Jun ior Dave Rya n (Ya m), com peting
in the 3 6 0cc class for the fir st tim e,
picked up a firs t in the Han-dica p even t.
He was third o ff the line and b y the
sixth lap was in fir st. He rode a fin e race
and w as a ble to hold o ff Experts Dick
Turner and Ch ris Sau er who fin ish ed
second and third re spectively.

Cras hing is still the problem here.
With a couple of rough spots and
riders running extra hard on the
tight IT co u rse, spills would be
common in the Main. The most serious
accident was when Atwater's Jerry
Holzer lost control leaving the sweeper
and hit the concrete grandstands.
Ricky ' Harper (Yam) sto le the 100
Junior lead from Kevin Pe ck on lap two
and proceeded to a comfortable witi.
Peck, from there, battled with Bro ck
Glover (Yam ) for second. Kev in had the '
