Tod d was foll owed early in the race by Arl o Engl und and Gary Glasenapp. Engl und passed Todd an d almost im mediately lost it to h im again. Glasenap p 'wa ited arou nd in third un ti l Todd see me d to fade a bit due to a sore wrist an d th en too k off after Englund and the lead which eluded him to the end. Cannon on a Kawasaki lost h is front b ra ke lever but didn' t lose an y ti me - just wouldn 't give up. T he overall wa s taken b y Arl o En gl u n d , Gar y Glasenapp, Jack Todd and Shane Cannon. The 125A class came off the line with Al Firestine (Yam) d eciding t o go in to the lead off th e line . This lead was never given up. Rick McGaha on a Honda hung in to give Firestine his only competition for this class . Arlo Englund also rode this class , but h ad a ON F in the first mota and did n ot ride the second.
