MartY Smith and his Elsinore at 125cc Qrand Prix.
As if his earth-shattering demolition of the world's top 125 riders at last year's Mid-Ohio
USGP wasn't enough, Marty Smith and his factory RC·125 Honda Elsinorew went out
and did it again this year. T he dynamic duo absolutely amaz ed the cheering crowd of
over 15,000 Mid-Ohio fans.

In each 40-minute,moto, Marty's game plan was simple and he executed it to
perfection. After establishing himself as the man to beat-by grabbing both hole
, shots- Marty was content to temporarily give up the lead position after a few laps .
Then he set into a relentless pre ssuring situation. Trying to wear his competitors
out, Marty forced the race to a blistering pace, driving inside , blasting around the
outside and soaring off the track's 15 different jumps. At about the two-thirds point
in each moto, Smith decided he'd had enough and gassed his Honda back into the
lead. Then he stretched that lead lap after lap, to win going away.
