The o ne mile challenging course probably has something to do with it too. Steve Bauer and David Williams put o n a show in th e 125 Pro class. Steve removed the ca st fr om his wrist to come out and shoot for so m e cash and almost did it. On the fifth and final lap, Williams was o n Bauer's rear wheel go ing in t o the tum. He went high into the berm, then cut down underneath Bauer an d straight into the finish line, o ne knobb y ahead, for the win. Williams won the se cond mo t o with similar style, however, he took a back seat to Bauer in the third.' Both riders were riding WFO in t his the final mota when Marty Wolford, a first time Pro got the hoIeshot and held off all riders for three laps until he lost it on the top of " In san ity downhill" and had to finish in third.
