The scratch program was more to Martin 's likin g and in the Main he faced all th e " hot dogs ": Ferris , Lindwall , and Salyers. The first tw o laps co uld ha ve gone to anybody, but some bumps in tum two sorted ou t Mart in and Salyers and the y moved to the rear. Lindwall wen t up front and Ferris slid a wheel under him on ea ch tum bu t wasn't able to pass . Louis won it making it a first time event for him. The Hanford track has instituted a team racing series which began tonite with Hanford riding against Taft. At the end of two r oun ds the score was tied up with six poin ts for each team. The final run off loo ked like a Hanford victory un til the tum two bumps fouled tip Tom Morley ridin g as a Hanford reserve. He lost his position and Taft won the match 10-8.
