The hottest rider of them all is still Dave Carlson (FMF). Dave finished 1·2 in the 125 Pro class to continue his winning ways. As the Mini Pros lined up it was sure to be a contest between Ascot speedster Bob Ott (Yam) and john Adkins, now riding an FMF Yamaha. But no rider could catch Ott in either mota and a fall in mota one hurt Adkins' ove rall tally. The 125 Pro class had ten riders on the line . Mota one was a fou r man duel between Carlson, Gregg Toyama (FMF), David Taylor (Suz) and Tim Lunde (Han). The riders were wheel to wheel for the entire first m ota and finished in the same order they started in . Lunde moved out front at the start of mota two and was never challenged. The battle was between Carlson, Taylor, and Doug Nicol (FMF). Carlson picked up another high finish with Taylor third. Val Tamietti (Mai) again picked up ano~her easy .250 Pro victory.
