The CZ guys know what Joel can do . He 'finally got past Halm and went after Kav inov. The Old Master was riding one of his better races of the year so far but was furious afterwards at the Czech ridin g tactics. As it seems to happen so often in Gran ds Prix, the pace set by the leaders results in the first t hr ee or four ' riders clearing off fro m everybody. In this seco nd m oto of th e Belgian ' 250 GP , Everts, Mikkola, Po meroy an d Maisch opened up a sizeable gap on Gaston who had made it into the top five fro in the sec ond row. "Difficult to win, I think, no?" he said. J ust co ming up to the end of the timed 40 m inutes, Hans Maisch got past Pomeroy, putting Jim back to fourth. Gaston con tin ued closing the gap on Jim, followed by Fa lta, Robert, Kavinov, Pean, Ovtchinnikov (KTM), Rolf Dieffenbach (Kramer-Maico), and Baborovsky, On the next lap, Mikkola took th e lead away fro m Harry Everts and won the second moto two minutes 20 seconds after that.
