T&M ace Scot Clifton led the third to exactly one lap before Dent on put a s lic k inside mo ve on hi m and roosted away. Crawford and· Blose on top at Canyon By Larry Owen PHOENIX, AZ, APRIL 4 Canyon Raceway's first race of a w three-week series began with e addition of an Expert payback y mo ta , plus the overall and the ~ ffiic k s totaled $6 3 0. Dave Crawford and ~ two Blose brothers reaped the spoils 1 t he 250 an d 125 Expert classes. ~ The track was run backward and the start st ra igh t WlI;s sh ort ened . In o rder to get the holeshot y o u had to read the !@.te p erfectl y and th at's exactly what Jeff Hedberg (Suz) did at the start of the first 250 Expert ra ce . It didn 't last long, however, as Bob Blose (Suz) took vo ve r the lead befor e the end of the first lap. Dav e Crawford (Suz) also passed Hedber g an d that 's how they finished, making it a Su zuki sweep. )l'T he second moto go t underway, after a re-start, with Cr awford taking the lead , an d th e overall win, Blose second and Robert Brazil (Suz), with a pair of co ns isten t fourths, th ird. "' 125 Experts have been dominated recently by Dave Crawford (Ho n ) and Ch appy Blose (lIon) . Today was no exceptio n as Crawford's Honda pulled the hol esho t , fo llo wed clo sely by Ch appy. Crawford fell down and Chappy took over the lead. Pat Imbriale (Yam) hel d down third as Bob Blose (Hon) breathed down his neck. Craw ford and Blose fough t it out with Crawford emergin g the eventual winner. Bob Blose fin ished third with Imbriale and Gary Understiller (Hon ) in fourth and fifth . In the second moto , Chappy charged into th e lead and pulled away from an obviously tiring Crawford. Elder brother Bob Blose took third and third o verall • wi th Understiller in fourth.
