Coming t hrough the red barn tum on to the front straight Byar's rear end disappeared quite dramatically and he and the bike spun down the track. Very exciting, especially with Hardy and Humble nipping at his heels. They blew by the prostrate Byars neck and neck only to have Bubba remount and force his way past Hardy in to third place by the end. • Pizzafola leaps Rio 125's By L. J . The Senile Citizens were . 30 strong witfi at least half a dozen new machines in the lineup. Wayne Beatty on a new Honda 125 zapped competition on the mini side of the Over 30 program. Earl Cherry and his new ma chine made it a race and finished second wh ile Randy .Blackwell and Mike Macyewski trailed. On the jumbo side of the ledger, it was Kawasaki mo unted Jim Barnes beating o ut Charlie Colburn and his new Bultaco for the win . Gas Mar ts ' J erry Darnell won th e first heat, but fell back for a third overall and Russell Allen rounded out the top four. The 125 Intermediate class got off to a roaring start with Mike Holsworth winning the first moto, but trouble in the second he at put h im out of contention for the win. When the points were tallied, it was Randy Adams an d his co nsistent riding paying off for first place with Ra pid Ron Guillory co ming in sec on d. Perry Rawlinson made it a two tro phy day fo r the family with a third pl ace ride an d Blake Haynes ro unded out the top four. The Expert class was large in numbers an d big in courage with some of the day's finest racing. In the 125 Expert class, it was Mickey Pizzatola and his new Honda doing all o f the damage winning all o f the first pl ace money. The Mick thrilled th e crowd an d awe d the co mp etition by reducing a double jump to a single 55 fo ot leap an d taking it in stride o n every lap !
