Among th ose we were glad to see show up again were Richard Harris, Mel Shapiro and Dalton Danon. The Masters class was Vice Pres Marvin Olson's romp with two clean sw~~ps. Easy does it, Marvin !! Bob Pawling, checking out his new Maico, checked in smartly with a second overall. In the ~ Expert class, Old Speedball Hutch shot two aces for first over all , Here we go again, and again. George "440" Meyer, goosed it fo r a 3·3, and the same ov erall. Dick Fra mto n was out with his new Bul to day , with a right hand shift yet, from the old school. Dick Doyle led the Amateurs for a clean sweep with two big ones, as pie plater J ohn Selder looked strong for second overall, Professor John W~bb brought horne the bacon for th ird overall, bettering his score each moto with a 5·3. Pres Dick Varvel turned in a goo d se cond in the first moto, but it wasn 't his d ay in the next m oto. His CZ st alled off the line , broke the rear brake and h is gear box locked up. Dan Harris demolished the Novice class , working his wa y through traffic both motos for two wins the h ar d way . Mel Shapiro is getting his Suzuki shaped and looked gre at for se cond, Kid COffm an, on passing te chnique, says "Yell at me, 111 move over l" Would you "believe he was even caught working on his own bike today? Steve Hostetler held the honor of leading all 12 ridefs aro und for two laps but another Beginner, Don Hoyt, took over where he left off. Hoyt took the win followed by Novice Terry Singleton and third went to the one and only Amateur, Duane Gallager, who really push~d to get by ten riders in the short five laps. t' : ACta t he rather crowded first moto the four Beginners were put in a class by thernse lves an d the Novices an d Arnat~ur we re comb ined in an other Class.
