After win n in g all three of h is heat races Scott Dinkins (Suz) was again shooting for that triple win (via the 125, 250, and 360-500cc Expert Mains) but fo und the goi ng a little rougher than the previous Spinn er TT. In the 125cc Expert Main, Dinkins saw Orange Cove's Gary Clark (Suz) build up a five bike length lead early in the race. It stayed this wa y until lap three when Din kins began picking up ground and st arted to make his move for the lead, On the final lap it was Clark o ne bike length ahead of Dinkins over the jump, but leaving the sweeper Dinkins d r opped to the inside and edged out Clark at the line for the win, In the 250cc Expert run, Dinkins was again seco nd , this time fo llowing Steve Monger (Yam) . Monger led until the third lap when Din kins tried to pass ex iting th e rig ht-hander. Con ta ct was made an d Mon ger bobbled, giving Dinkins the lead and the win. With two _do wn and o ne to go, Din kins too k the ho leshot of t he 360-500 Experts, and fer th e firs t ti me in to day's mains , h e wasn 't pl ay ing catch-up.
