A fte r th at th e course meandered thro ugh th e fo res t and it fast became apparen t that 18 m p h ave rage was go in g to be hard to main tain. On. loop one yo u crossed Lee Creek three t imes. It. was d ee p , swift, an d covere d with th e most di a bo lic rocks. Upside d o wn m o to rcycles getting the wate r p u mped out were th e ord er of th e day for the unw ary , unfo rtu nate o r un p repa red. Waterproofin g was a m us t -for this run and wa te r-wi ng s and a snorkle woul d have been n ice options.
