Super-sandy Pontiac Stadium set
the stage for one of Team Honda's most
powerful performances eyer. After the dust
had settled on the two-day AMA Supercross
event, the nearly 40,000 spectators saw
Honda finish first and second overall in
the 250cc main and first overall in the
500cc support class.
The 250 factory bikes of Marty
Smith and Pierre Karsmakers never let
anything but a Honda into the winner's
circle-through four straight 250cc motos!

And in the open class, Richard
Eierstedt- Honda's only entrant- finished
the weekend with an almost perfect 2-1-1-1
to capture first place honors.
