MAR. 7 The Idaho branch of the famous .Ram s dese~t club put on a neat team race for the local riders this past weekend. There was a fine turn out of talented sandwash freaks who showed up for so me fun . Leading th e boys aro und on the first of the three lap s was the team of Bob Carlberg and company . Something (Kaw) happened 10 Bobby and his buddies by the end. though, for it was Terry and Danny Lankford and their teammate Randy Pu tzier coming h ome first after 90 m iles of gassin' it together, ' The hoi set-up for team racing is to stick tigh t to your partners' tails, go through the checks at the same time and not break or fall off. The Lankford brothers and Putzier managed 10 do all of this and went p retty fast at the same time . About two minutes behind the winning team was the trio of Bob Bosserman (fearless one-day co ntender) , Steve Jones and Harry Wishart who is an old hand on the Murphy terrain. Jones rode the 125 for the team (Each team has to have one of the durn th ings!) and clai med he rode h is yarbles off staying wilh Bosserman and Harry. Bosserman was pleased with the collective performances of himself and his teammates although he couldn't tell you whal Harry's last name was after the race. "Just some guy named Harry who needed a team. We came down here looking for another rider and found a pretty good one ... dude flat ' pu ts the gas to it !" . Harry probably didn't know what Bob's last nam e was either. • Results in Results Section, Sacto Jammers "Wild Hare" , By Sallee Hilton PLYMOUTH . Interest was also added by a few neighboring cattle who managed to find an opening in the fence and race with t he Experts for a short distance before deciding their own side was preferable .
