And just like the previous mota, David Morris (Kaw) came frofu behind after a less than spectacular start to zap all of them for third. Yamaha mounted Jack Smith took an easy winin the first 'm o ta and Steve had to settle for second. Steve had no trouble taking the win in mota two as he turned on his Yamaha and showed the 125s behind him how it's done. Jim Forehand took the final win as he held Griffith to a second, but Steve took the overall win. Forehand .was second and Jack Smith third. Steve took home another trophy after a super ride in the Special Expert class . Glen Rees took' every lap in the , ~t mota aboard a Maico 450, Brian Webb .was second followed by Griffith on his .125. Besides being the youngest rider, Steve was armed with the smallest bike :,but that didn't seem to hinder him in thc leas t. Rees shot out front but .Web b 's 250 Yamaha maneuvered its way into the lead. Griffith got a wheel under Steve Montague who wa s now ru nning t hird after Rees went down and lost his lead. T he fmal lap came to a dose an d Webb was the winner. Griffith finished a close second in "fr o nt of Montague o n a 440 Maico, If Griffith was to make his move, now was the time. He let loose and turned that little 125 on and that was it. The race was his and so was the trophy.
