Even 125 Pro s Bru ce McD ougal and
Charlie Bower co uldn ' t hold off the two
youngsters who are virtually unbeat ab le
at Irwinda le. Gary Denton (Han ) and
David Tay lor (Hon), In the first mota .
Taylor took the lead and see med to
have t he race in his hip pocket. but he
slid out in th e switch -ba ck turn. Denton
slipped into th e top spot and T aylor was
a disappointed second after the first
round. Denton produced a holeshot in
th e secon d go and T aylor tried hard to
close the gap. Again David took the
" Avis" position with y ou ng Scot
Clifton. aboard a T & l\l Honda. third.

In the fi al round, Denton only had
to fin ish sec ond to win the overall.
T aylor took the lead and Gary settled
for second, bu t first ove ra ll , with
Eddie Clark third.
